Better groceries
Online grocery shopping can be a huge life saver for busy parents but make sure the entire family makes it to the grocery occasionally! Almost every retailer now offers a delivery option making it easier for families to get groceries fast without the fuss of dragging kids to the store.
- Thrive Market offers high quality products at wholesale prices – this is where I get my processed staples (chips, crackers, quinoa, oatmeal, dressings, etc.)
- Corner Post Meat Do you know where your meat is coming from, what the animal ate and how the rancher cares for the animal and the land? If you can’t get to a farmers market to buy local meat, I highly suggest ordering from Corner Post Meats online store.
Better skincare
Did you know that what we put on our skin, gets absorbed? The US has not passed a major federal law regulating the ingredients in personal care products since 1938. The EU has banned more than 1,300 chemicals in personal care products…the US has only partially banned 11. You only get one body during your life, do you really want to put chemicals on it?
- Neal’s Yard Remedies makes the most delicious products that are good for our skin, health and the environment. In addition to their skincare line, I also love their organic essential oils. I am a NYR representative and would be happy to talk more about making the switch to better skincare products.
- Think Dirty app – the easiest way to learn about ingredients in your beauty, personal care and household products. Just scan the product barcode and Think Dirty will give you easy-to-understand info on the product, its ingredients, and shop cleaner options!
Unlike sugary cereals and fast food chains; fruit, vegetables, healthy fats and protein don’t have commercials on tv marketed towards kids. The more we talk positively about food, the faster kids will understand that eating is a vital part of living and worth making better choices.
