Meme has spent many years reading and researching nutrition. She is a life learner that is excited by knowledge and eager to cater what she learns so children can understand it.
I am passionate educator helping families build a healthier relationship with food.
I started babysitting when I was 13 and have since nannied internationally and in the US, taught in public and private schools, and was an educator for several non-profits. Having spent time observing many families, I saw a great need for helping educate children about food. Nourishing our bodies is not something that is taught in school, yet eating is something we do every day for our entire lives.
Sitting down to eat has become more trivial and food is now something to hurry through. I don’t want to pass our fast food obsessed, sugar addicted, convenient culture to the next generation but instead help instill in them a healthy relationship with food. With all the other essential things required for being a parent, most parent’s plates are full (pun intended) and there isn’t time left to research what to feed your kids to help them be their very best selves.
We live in a “diet” obsessed world that encourages unhealthy relationships with food and a negativity for the one body we reside in for life. Society, media and social media will impact your children’s self esteem, confidence and increase body insecurities. I struggled with this and would love to help kids see their beauty, worth and strength via conversations around nourishing food. Echoed throughout all my programs is a pure love for these incredible bodies that do so much for us.

Mindful/conscious eating is best for people of all ages including children. What is mindful eating? Simply put it’s listening to your body. Eat what makes you feel good and have the knowledge to make better food choices most of the time. When we remove the negative labels towards food, we erase the shame and guilt that so many attach to eating.
My goal is to give you the tools necessary to make impactful changes for your family. Food should not be dreaded as it is with so many families but instead food should and can be fun!
In addition to helping kids love food; I like exploring in nature, trying new recipes, enjoying farm to table restaurants, dancing at outdoor concerts and traveling with my amazing partner, Charlie. Some of my favorite things include farmer’s markets, sunsets, avocados and aspen trees dancing in the wind.
With love and gratitude, Meme Loftin
